Birch • Vanilla • Dark Cacao • Benzoin Tears
The heat never lifts it just settles deeper
At first it is smoke Birch low and smoldering like wood left to breathe in the dark rather than burn out It does not announce itself It presses into the air soft but persistent
Then the cocoa comes in but not sweet not powdered
It is raw Dense Dark cacao split open under the sun earthy slightly bitter with a faint living edge It leans into the skin intimate and a little untamed blurring the line between warmth and something more instinctive
Vanilla follows but it does not soften things the way you expect It is dark resinous almost charred at the edges a black vanilla shaped by the smoke rather than lifted by it The sweetness feels restrained like it has been pulled through something deeper before reaching the surface
There is a stillness that forms
Something held close just before it disappears
Warmth lingering where something once was
Benzoin begins to glow underneath it all Not bright more like embers Slightly balsamic faintly sweet it wraps around the cacao and vanilla giving them a quiet cohesion It feels less like a base note and more like the atmosphere everything exists inside of
As it settles the edges soften but the core never turns innocent
The cacao stays textured
The vanilla stays deep
The smoke never fully disappears
It does not feel like a gourmand
It feels like something grown from the body of the earth itself
dark intertwined and still holding warmth
